Hi, Last Night About 3 Times I Experienced A Shooting
![default](/r/images/default.png)
I have mild colitis (usually left side) and am in a small flare now but nothing that is more than I have been used to or different (toilet 2-3x, mucous)
Yesterday afternoon when watching TV I did feel a dull pain in my lower right abdomen but it passed.
I have also been doing started intensive pilates/abdominal exercises last 4 weeks.
My concern here is that this could be appendicitis or a blockage related to colitis?
I feel totally fine rest of day, exercising, eating etc but am on edge in case I get that feeling in the daytime
You should be investigated.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor service.
As per your description, it could be Appendicitis or Right sided Ureteric stone. It cannot be Blockage due to Colitis.
Appendix is located in Right lower part of Abdomen.Right sided Ureter also passes through that area. Simple Investigation like Ultrasound abdomen will give a Clue
If both these conditions are ruled out, then the pain could be due to Musculoskeletal cause. As you are started Abdominal exercises recently, it might have caused the Pain.
I prescribe skeletal muscle relaxant tablet containing Thiocolchicoside to my patients with similar complaints.
Please consult your doctor and get investigated with Ultrasound abdomen.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query. If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health
Regards
