Hi, My 16 Month Old Daughter's Hip Bones Are Not

Question: Hi, my 16 month old daughter's hip bones are not ossifying. Could you tell me if this is likely to cause her pain now and in the future if her bones do not ossify? Would it affect her life in general? Is there any treatment for this? She currently has no issues and can walk perfectly. Is it likely that her bones will ossify over the next few years? She had hip dysplasia when she was born and wore a pavlik harness for 12 weeks. Her hip dysplasia is almost cured now. Thank you.
Brief Answer:
This is painless.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
Delay in ossification of hip bones can be due to calcium or vitamin D 3 deficiency or can be birth-related. This will gradually ossify in the next few years. This is painless. No need to worry. You can give her calcium and vitamin D3 supplements regularly to help the ossification.
Hope this answer is helpful.
Any further questions are welcome.
