Question: Hi, my baby is newborn . She’s 3 weeks old and she haven’t poop yet. it’s been 5 day she haven’t poop yet and her tummy is not hard. I did tummy message , bicycling and warm bath but still she haven’t poop yet . Can you tell me what to do

I understand your concern

But we need not worry now. The frequency and consistency of stool varies widely among new borns. Some babies passes stools 6-8 times a day, while others passes only once in 5-8 days. This variation can also happen in the same baby over time.

If there is no progressive abdominal distension, frequent vomiting(some spitting up is normal) or abdominal pain(excessive crying), nothing to be done. We can wait upto 8 days. If no stools by 8th-9th day, or if above said symptoms appear, kindly get back to me- I will guide you further.
