Brief Answer:
Slipped disc , treatment is generally conservative .

Detailed Answer:
Hi I am Dr Gopal Goel , Orthopedic Surgeon.
I have gone through MRI report and it confirms cervical disc disease ( protrusion of C6-7 disc). The MRI picture is consistent with clinical pictures.
Majority of discs in cervical diseases heal themselves over a period of time. Only rarely do they require surgical intervention.
In all my patients with this condition I advise pain killers , muscle relaxants , local hot fomentation and physiotherapy ( Intermittent cervical traction + Interferential therapy and Isometric Neck Exercises) for 10-14 days and then I review them again.
So I would suggest the same for your brother also.
Prognosis is generally good with no residual effect. I advise for life long exercises.
Thanks for the question. Please feel free to ask any other question.
Note: For further queries, consult a joint and bone specialist, an Orthopaedic surgeon. Book a Call now.
