Hi, My Daughter Has My Been Complaining Of Pain In

Question: Hi, my daughter has my been complaining of pain in her butt crack for a week. There are no bumps or redness on her skin but I looked closely today and there’s a small crater, like the indentation of a finger, on the left side of her butt near the crack. Any idea what this is and how to treat it?
Brief Answer:
Regarding pain
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service.
I have gone through your query and viewed the image.
There is nothing as such on the skin which could be causing pain. I suggest you give an OTC oral analgesic/antiinflammatory like either ibuprofen or diclofenac tab for 2-3 days.
I hope, I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

hello and thank you for responding but your answer is vague and unhelpful and quite frankly bullshit. Are you being dismissive because my child is black? did you even read my question?. I’m already giving her Aleve and I know there is nothing on her skin. I can’t take her to a hospital and risk exposing her to a Covid 19 patient so I’m paying a doctor online to help me. So rather than give me some ridiculous response, how about you try to answer my question.
Are you aware of any condition that could cause an indentation in the buttocks that is painful when you sit? If so, what has been done to treat it outside of an anti inflammatory for two days? I’ve been giving her Aleve for a week!

Brief Answer:
Sacral dimple
Detailed Answer:
Hi. Good morning. I am sorry for upsetting you. That was not my intention and I don't discriminate amongst my patients by skin color. I am myself a doctor of Asian descent.
It is a sacral dimple. Sacral dimples are common and asymptomatic in vast majority of cases. Very rarely they are an indication of underlying spine problems. If it is deep, as in her case, they may get inflammed and swollen and cause pain. However, as in her case there is no discharge or swelling, just pain which could be because of some unnoticed injury or low grade inflammation because of smouldering infection. As she is already taking oral anti inflammatory I would suggest a course of an oral antibiotic e.g either Amoxicillin or Cephalexin to take care of any infection deep within.
Take care. Let me know if you need any more assistance.
