Brief Answer:
the cause has to be identified

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

H.pylori is treated with a combination of antibiotics and proton pump inhibitors (PPI). The type of PPI does not matter much, so either esomeprazole or lansoprazole will do. If her symptoms are only caused by the PPI then switching back to lansoprazole (lanzor) is the right way to go.

In most cases though such symptoms are caused by the antibiotics (particularly metronidazole and clarithromycin). I can't possibly know which antibiotics were prescribed to her but the ones I've mentioned are frequently chosen by the doctors. Her doctor has to identify the cause of her symptoms before trying any changes to the regimen. Until then there's not much she can do about it.

I hope I've answered your question. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Kind Regards,
Dr Panagiotis Zografakis
