Brief Answer:
Can be viral or amoebic/Protozoal or bacterial gastroenteritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Yes, most likely its gastroenteritis, usually gastroenteritis is by a viral infection and is self-limiting. It takes five to seven days to resolve. But as you mentioned that sometimes there is blood on your stools so it either bacterial or protozoal infection or mixed infection.

I would suggest you go for a few tests:
Ultrasound abdomen
Stool analysis under the microscope
Complete blood count
Total and differential leukocyte count.

If the stool test is positive for bacterial or protozoal infection. Start taking Zithromax (Azithromycin 500 mg once daily) and Secnidazole 1 gram daily for 5 days (prescription based medications).
Along with it take Fybrogel husk, It will increase the bulk of your stools.

Eat light and easily digestible food.
Drink plenty of water and electrolytes to maintain proper hydration.

Feel free to follow up.
Thanks
