Question: Hi. my son has been experiencing the following for about a year. Chest pain usually starting on the right side and radiating, shortness of breadth, stomach pain, dizziness from vestibular migraine, and fatigue. He has also lost 10 lbs in the last 2 months. he ways only 120lbs. Also blood in the stool. He has had all the scopes for his colon and digestive track. Heart tests, X-rays, MRI, testing for parasites and other diseases. Tested his blood for deficiencies, thyroid, and white blood count etc. He has been in the emergency room and in the hospital twice with no answers. The only thing they said was maybe it was autoimmune. He is going to a ruemotologist soon. He has not traveled outside the country. He has been tested for Lime disease and other tick born illnesses. He has had his lungs reviewed. Not sure what else we can do?

Brief Answer:
autoimmune disorders should be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hello Dear,
I have gone through your question and I can understand your concerns for your son...

Please note, since all the tests were not conclusive in reaching a definitive diagnosis, I would recommend that he should start an empirical treatment for autoimmune disorders as systemic lupus and polyarteritis Mofida. The treatment should include corticosteroids and immunosuppressants as Azathioprine... Please discuss this with his doctors.

He should also limit dairy and fats in his diet and increase the fiber content to help relieve the symptoms... A stool analysis for H.Pylori infection should be done to exclude it as a cause of this symptoms...

Further testing to confirm the diagnosis should include ANA test and anti lupus antibodies to confirm or exclude systemic lupus and arteriogram to exclude or confirm polyarteritis nodosa...

I hope you'll find this helpful...Let me know if I can assist you further.

Kind regards

My son just woke up with a rash all over his body, swollen glands and swollen cheeks. Has a temperature. Can this be related to his other symptoms in previous message?

Brief Answer:
A number of causes

Detailed Answer:
Dear Sir, hello again..

This could be due to a number of reasons including allergic reaction, mumps, and systemic lupus...
.
If possible, please send a photo of the rash attached as a report to a follow-up query to be able to assess the condition better...

In the meanwhile, he should take Acetaminophen tablets to relieve the fever.
