Question: Hi, my throat has felt a little swollen today and not sure why....hoping it's not covid. Slight cough and no fever or shortness of breath. I did have a root canal a month ago. I just finished Zithromicyn a few weeks ago and amoxicillin a month ago. I am Type2 diabetes (a1c is now 8 but was 11 a few months ago). I do have history of swollen lymph nodes in neck and groin area. Possible crohns or UC. History of kidney disease and acute appendicitis.

Please see pics....the part I circled looks a bit larger than usual. What do you think?

Brief Answer:
Need to consult ENT specialist

Detailed Answer:
Hi Sharwal,

Thanks for writing in.

It looks like some inflammation and doesn’t seem to be a dental issue. The best way is to consult an ENT specialist and as you have mentioned that you have slight cough, so its better to get covid 19 test done as a precautionary measure. Thought there is a slight risk but its always good to rule out Covid 19 and keep safe.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Wishing you a good health

Kind Regards
Dr. Neha Sumra
