Hi My Wife Fell End Of July On Her Leg

default
Posted on Sat, 19 Oct 2019
Question: Hi my wife fell end of july on her leg and the pain never went away. She ices it alot, even got a cortizone shot which didnt help. It was still lumpy after a few weeks so she got asked to do an mri before physical therapy

Mri results say she has large multilobular mass with traits comparable to a solid neoplasm and another mri with enhanced contrast is needed

Sounds scary- what does this mean? Could this be dangerous?

Brief Answer:
Suggests a cancerous mass.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
A large multilobular mass which looks like a solid neoplasm is indicative of a possible cancerous mass. It is serious and needs an immediate attention of an orthopedician for further investigations and removal of the mass followed by biopsy.
I hope this answers your query.

Brief Answer:
Report says the same.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The mass has not appeared due to the fall but it has been noticed now. May be the mass was smaller and present earlier also. I have seen the attached report and it suggests a cancerous mass. You need to consult an orthopedician for surgical excision biopsy to confirm.
Hope my answer is helpful.

Brief Answer:
Only biopsy can confirm.

Detailed Answer:
It can be benign also but this can be confirmed only after a biopsy. The best is that it comes to be benign and is removed surgically. The worst case is that it is a malignant swelling.
Regards.
