Hello
Thanks for query .
Based on the facts and reports that you have posted your father has bladder outlet obstruction due to Benign Enlargement of Prostate .
In view of significant post void residual urine (212 cc) I would advise to undergo endoscopic surgery for resection of Prostate (TURP).
This will resolve his problems and give permanent relief and will help to improve his quality of life .
Consult qualified Urologist for evaluation and for further treatment .

Thank you so much doctor for your response.. we will definitely follow your advise. I wanted to understand is this surgery mandatory? How soon he need to do this surgery?.Is there any possibility that Can he get rid off with medication ? One to the urologist suggested a medication for one month then based on the result he may need to advise further. Will there be any risk if my father don't undergo for surgery in next one or two months or quite longer than this. Kindly explain me the risk factors of this problem.

Brief Answer:
Delay in surgery for few months will not have negative effects
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up .
Benign Enlargement of Prostate (BEP) is an aging process and not a disease like developing Cataract in Eyes .There are drugs like 5 alpha reductase inhibitors which can prevent further enlargement of Prostate .Which when given in combination with alpha blockers like Silodosin or Tomsulosin do help to give symptomatic relief However the effects of these drugs are not longer lasting and a stage comes when obstructive voiding symptoms like increased frequency and nocturnal frequency for urination hamper quality of life There are other complication like developing frequent urinary infection and back pressure changes in kidneys .
Looking at the significant post void residue of 212 cc ,I personally would suggest to get the surgery done .Delaying it for few months and taking medicines will not have any negative effects .
Thanks and Regards.
