Hi, The Other Day A Stranger Told Me That My

Question: Hi, the other day a stranger told me that my nose looked as though it has been broken before. They say that it looks dented in on one side. I've never noticed it before but after looking at pictures I can see a slight difference. I've also noticed that one nostril is wider than the other. To my knowledge, I've never broken my nose in my life, what could be the cause and is there a fix without surgery? Second question: a few months back my right eye started twitching and looked lower than my other eyelid, after a few weeks it went away but it's now started on my left eye, do you know what's causing this also? Thanks :)

Brief Answer:
Eye twitching unrelated to nasal structure

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for using the Ask a Doctor service.

I have gone through your query and have checked the attached image. Let me assure you that I precisely understand what you are talking about. You need not have broken your nose and there can be normal variations in the structure of the nasal septum or the size of nostrils. I would insist you to visit an ENT doctor as he would be able to internally examine and comment on the presence of Deviated nasal septum (DNS) or associated structural variations. However, I do not think that non-surgical methods will be helpful in correction.

The twitching of the eyes could be due to electrolyte imbalance and taking juicy fruits like citrus fruits, and bananas should help.
