Hi There Dr. I Just Wanted To Ask If Anyone

Question: Hi there Dr. I just wanted to ask if anyone can help me figure out why I am experiencing continues or persistence headache. It started 3 weeks ago as a lightheadedness. 24 hrs a day is the same feeling. It never went away, even for a minute. Since the Last 5 days, it changed into a headache, mostly forehead. And it seems to be, gradually, aggravating. Today, when I lye down on my bed, I felt my entire head as something heavy was pushing it down. I can feel my forehead, sideways, upper middle, and upper back hurt. The pain is not extreme, but enough to disrupt my sleep. Several days ago, I checked my entire body through blood count, stool test, and a CT scan. Everything came out normal. I am worried. What could be causing this? The feeling doesn't go away and come back; it is just there 24 hrs/day.

Probably migraine, follow the advice below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Your symptoms seem to be related to migraine.

I suggest using an anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three tablets a day.

If the headache continue you may use prescribed medication such as triptans (Imitrex).

I suggest to avoid stress and follow a healthy lifestyle.

I recommend to eat a healthy diet and sleep at least seven hours a week.

I also recommend taking a magnesium and vitamin B complex supplement daily.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you for your response doctor. Is it possible an STD can cause this migraine looking feeling? I always use protection with my girlfriend, but about a month a go, the condom broke. I pulled out immediately and used another one. Can that short moment endanger me?

Brief Answer:
The headache is not commonly related to STD, you should not be worried.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,

Sexual transmitted diseases are very rarely related to headache.

These diseases have other typical symptoms such as bumps or sores on the genital area, painful urination or discharge.

So, in my opinion you don't have any symptom related to STDs.

You should not be worried.

Take care dear,

Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi

I am sorry, but I forget to ask you one thing:
In my recent blood test, my WBC count was below normal. It was 3900. I believe the average should range between 4500 and 11000. Why is mine Lower?
Anything I should worry about?
And how can I increase my WBC?
THANKS, and sorry again for asking too much.

Brief Answer:
Follow up query explained below in details.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,

A low white blood cell count can be a sign of an underlying medical problem, but not always.

Different laboratories classify low white blood cell differently.

Generally, a count lower than 3,500 white blood cells is considered a low white blood cell count.

So, in your case the level is normal in my opinion.

I would only recommend to take a vitamin supplement to boost the immune system.

I also recommend to maintain a healthy lifestyle, eat healthy and sleep at least seven hours a day.

Hope my answer was helpful.

Take care dear,

Dr.Dorina Gurabardhi
