Question: Hi there, I am in great physical shape and have no health problems even though I am 46 I don’t look that way or act that way. I have noticed for the past four or five days I’ve had a burning sensation in my stomach and it comes and goes. It’s around most of the day in the evening it subsides. It’s not pain it’s a burning discomfort I am also seeing a healer/acupuncturist who is telling me that what it’s from because she’s cleaning out well the toxins in my body insisting that’s what it is.. I don’t have health insurance And what’s the point of going to a doctor or they’re just gonna have to do tons of tests. No history of ulcers or stomach problems can ulcers come up this quickly?

Brief Answer:
It could be gastroesophageal reflux

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

What you describe sounds like gastroesophageal reflux. It can also be gastritis or an ulcer, although the latter is unlikely. I suggest you try a proton pump inhibitor like prilosec twice a day for 10 days, and you can add an antacid as well. If that does not work, you must consult your doctor and get an endoscopy done to find out the exact nature of the problem.

Hope this helps.
