Question: Hi there, I have had a headache at a specific spot in the back right side of my head for about 3 days now. I haven't hit my head there or anything, it just kind of came on. Today it was aching a good portion of the day, but has been particularly noticeable at night. Is this something I should see a doctor about?
Brief Answer:
May be pain from a muscle of the scalp.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to the "Ask a Doctor" service.
I have read your query.
For now, I don't think you should rush to the Doctor.
By your prescription of the symptoms, the problem seems to be located outside the brain, on the muscles of the scalp.
So, the ache may originate from a muscle of the scalp, gentle massage, warm procedures on it, and simple painkillers such as ibuprofen for a couple of days, should be tried first.
If no improvement after a few days then you should see your Doctor.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
