Hi There! This Has Been Going On For A Few
Question: Hi there!
This has been going on for a few months as I have been changing my eating habits, working out more, eating healthier and less than usual... I have been dizzy all the time and my body just gets overwhelmed very quickly by loud noise and stimulation. I get nauseous, dizzy, my diaphragm gets tight and I can't breathe... it ALWAYS happens as I get moving in the morning... I wake up fine and then by 11 I am on the verge of tears (emotions are overwhelmed around this time of day too) and just completely feeling overwhelmed physically. Then I push through and it gets better... but, when I go to the gym... within 20 minutes it happens again... and if I go to a busy restaurant or movie or concert at night... all the feelings come back. I'm really not anxious or depressed about anything (other than these symptoms). My doctor said maybe it's vertigo/labyrinthitis... does this sound like a psychiatric issue or something like a brain tumor or an inner ear issue?

Brief Answer:
This is most likely due to anxiety.

Hello thanks for using ask a doctor service
I can understand your problem. The sudden onset feelings like overwhelmed, nauseating feeling, dizziness, tight diaphragm, difficulty in breathing etc are most likely due to anxiety or this could be some other medical issue.
Do you suffer dizziness that is sudden onset?
Do you have any symptoms like sudden loss of weight over last few months?
Any symptoms like low grade fever, severe headache, any episode of seizure?
If there is no in these questions then we can rule out tumour clinically.
This can be vertigo but in labyrinthitis usually other symptoms like fever, some times pain in ear etc are seen.
Thanks
This is most likely due to anxiety.

Do you suffer dizziness that is sudden onset? Yes... sometimes when I move my head up or down or to the side quickly... I will get really unbalanced.
Do you have any symptoms like sudden loss of weight over last few months? I am losing weight, but slowly... and on purpose. I've reduced my calories and changed my diet extremely lately... much more protein... less sugar/carb/fat/fried foods. All of my blood work has been normal.
Any symptoms like low grade fever, severe headache, any episode of seizure? None of these things but I will get a bad headache or inner ear ache at the end of the day if my day was filled with dizziness and all the other symptoms. But that's usually sharp pain and sometimes gets better with rest

Brief Answer:
This could be due to inner ear problem.

Hello again
Thanks for providing details.
If on sudden movement of head you develop dizziness then that is more likely due to inner ear problem. This should be ruled out. You can get appointment from an ENT doctor and some tests will be done to rule out this.
I am sure this is not due to tumour if clinical symptoms are considered.
Yes if ear issue is ruled out then this might be because of anxiety.
Thanks.
