Question: Hi there, for the past 2 weeks or so, I have had pain in my chest just below my ribs and under them.I also have very sore glands in my neck. I feel like I'm getting out of breath slightly.I have a slight small cough, nothing too much.I have no fever or bad cough. Iam sure it's not covid19, but would like to know what it is?Just don't feel like myself. I can still hold my breathe for a minute.

Brief Answer:
Upper respiratory tract infection

Detailed Answer:
Hello thanks for writing to us for your health concerns. I would like to know one thing from you about the travel history to any corona suspected case or positive contact.

Many people experience breathlessness due to many reasons. So it can never be covid 19. Still I would like to rule out contact history. If it's yes then you need to immediately go to any near by fever clinic and get quarantine for few days. I don't think for mild cough also they will test you for covid.

If you don't have travel history nor contact history and also you says you have painful glands can even mean tonsillitis and pain under chest will usually be gastritis or GERD which can be so severe to get you breathless also.. So I would suggest you to treat symptomatically according to the symptoms.

First hot water gorgling with salt is the best early in the morning. Second prophylactically you can take gastric tablets like Tab Pantoprazole 40mg once before 30min of food intake morning. Nebulization might help if you have asthma history in the past. You should maintain your hand hygiene. wash hands and also maintain social distancing. I prefer you to stay at home and only during unavoidable circumstances only you can be out of home. Please never neglect about the current condition and you never know who can be positive for covid. So kindly follow all national instructions of the country during this epidemic.

If you still continue to be breathless or having dry cough please don't hesitate to ask follow up questions here. Thank you stay safe stay at home.
