Question: Hi, this might seem like a stupid question but I'm very anxious at the moment! I've been overchecking, compulsively checking and noticed that one side of my pubic region, just above the pelvic bone and slightly to the left of the top of my right thigh is slightly thinker (fatter?) Than the other. Just a bit. I have been reassured that bodies are not symmetrical and that this is normal but just wanted to check!

Sorry I've just re-read it - I should add that the whole lower abdomen/pelvic/pubis area is symmetrical apart from a small area - it's not the whole thing that's out of sync! And I had to really dig around to find this one bit that's slightly thicker / fatter on one side!

Brief Answer:
Need not worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

If there is no pain, tenderness or any sort of color change in the overlying skin, then there is no need to worry.

Yes, as you said though there is a symmetry there might be some difference for some places.

Hope, I answered your query.

Please do ask if any doubts.

Regards,

Yes no pain at all (except pain I have created from poking it :-( ). Thank you. Is there muscle or fat in this region? It kind of feels like strands. I was just worried it was a huge gland or stretched out lump or something. Thanks!

You can't see anything at all above the skin - looks totally normal.

I think I might be feeling a ligament?

I quite like your earlier assessment of not to worry unless it becomes painful or tender or discoloured.

Would you say that is a general rule? Watch and see if a problem becomes tender, painful or discoloured - or if it grows, too?

Otherwise I suppose it is just the imperfections of the body, generally.

Brief Answer:
Yes,

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

It could well be a lymph node too.

Anyways a careful observation for next few days is what needed.
