Question: Hi, when I masterbate I ejaculate normally with much semen. But when having real sex, i don't get that orgasm and I don't think I am ejaculating much. Actually I doesn't feel like I have cum, even though the pre cum is there. Also after some excitement i does feel some numbness as in masterbation, but still I don't feel like I have cum. I am worried whether this could help me to get my wife pregnant?

Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and I have noted your concern

Normally you would know when you have reached orgasm regardless of whether you masturbate or have vaginal sex. If the problem is that you find it difficult to achieve orgasm during sexual intercourse, it is most likely perhaps because you are anxious and worried about whether you would achieve orgasm or not, as a result you are not able to enjoy the act of sexual intimacy and therefore not able to orgasm. I don't think this is much of a problem and should get better. I advice you to indulge in mutual sexual stimulation like kissing, exploring each other physically prior to having penetrative sex. The entire sexual act should be stress free.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance

thanks sir, actually I do think I have a concern while indulging in sex whether I would orgasm or not. One of the main issue I take more time while doing penetrating sex and some times my partner would get tired and this disturbs me. Above all my doubt is, will the quantity of semen or cum that releases during our penetrative sex which lasts minimum of 15 to 20 minutes, be enough to make my partner pregnant. Or is it required to have full scale ejaculation as that happens during masterbation. i have not been masterbating for nearly two to three weeks and only have sex with partner atleast once in two days. For the past 4 to 5 days we were not having any sex and I did not masterbate either, since my wife was feeling unwell. To my XXXXXXX i had ejaculation in my dream today. I wrote all these so that you may get an understanding of the situation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
If you masturbate or have sex regularly with your partner the volume of semen would be less compared to if you indulge in sex after a gap of few days. If the sperm concentration in semen is otherwise normal you can impregnate your wife even if you have sex daily or twice a day. As far as time to orgasm is concerned you may try indulge in some foreplay (kissing, oral sex and finger stimulation of clitoris) with your partner which would excite your partner and help make sex more pleasurable not only for her but for you as well as there would be greater lubrication and that would help both of you achieve a strong orgasm. Worrying only about achieving an orgasm would only impact it negatively. So your aim should be to make the intimacy more pleasurable for your partner rather than just focus on the end result/ orgasm.

Take care
