(History) Sir I Am Diagnosed With Diabetes Type 2 10

sir i am diagnosed with diabetes type 2 10 days back. it was shocking for me because i was not in any kind of problem or any major symptoms which i know about diabetes. In a random blood sugar test my reading were 230 mg/dl, and in fasting blood sugar war 250 , and hbA1c test was 9.7. it was seriously high and i was in shock. In my family history my father was diabetic in late 50s of his age and heart patient, but my age is 32 right now, and i am not over weight(63kg 5 feet 7in height). Also no obesity type problem.
Doctor give me medicines one 500 mg metformin daily at night and one Atrovastatin 10mg in morning( for cholesterol). After these medicines and a complete change in my diet i am now at a range of 100 to 160 mg/dl (pre and post meal) blood sugar level. Eliminating or taking very very less carbohydrates and mostly i am taking protiens and vegetables. i have attached my test report kindly review that and i have some questions i hope i will receive all answers.
Question;
Now sir near about 20 days after these medicines from last 4days i am feeling chest pain that is slight pain but giving me a lot of fear. i am feared that is heart related pain. that pain is near about same heart area left side of chest. but sir i have never felt such pain before why it started even now after medicine of diabetes and also i am taking tablet for cholesterol . ? is there any crieteria that can differentiate between normal winter chest pain and heart pain .? and if it is heart related pain then why it is started now even my blood sugar is controlled ? is that due to cholesterol? and if cholesterol still i am taking medicine now . kindly reply in detail
Diabetes mellitus and Dyslipidemia
Detailed Answer:
Hi
I have gone through your query.
I can understand your concern.
I have reviewed your attached reports and i can confirm that you have Diabetes mellitus and borderline high cholesterol, triglicerides,LDL with low HDL level.
These results show cardiovascular riscs for this reason i agree with your doctor for the diet and the treatement with atorvastatine.
About your Diabetes, considering your young age and not beeing overweight ,i suggest to do the GAD antibodies test because i suspect that you may have Latent autoimune diabetes in adults or LADA.
My last advice is to do without delay a EKG test and a heart ultrasound to clarifie if your heart is the cause of your chest pain.
Hope this is helpful.
Let me know if i can assist you further.
Take care.

Muscle pain(probable)
Detailed Answer:
hI agaiin.
I appologise for the late reply.
Usualy metformine and atorvastatine (your drugs of Diabetes and high cholesterol) do not cause chest pain.
So,i insist that these drugs are not the cause of your symptom.
Metformin may cause side effects like diarrhea, bloating, stomach pain, gas, indigestion, constipation, and heartburn.
Atorvastatine and all the other statin drugs can cause:Headache,Difficulty sleeping,Muscle aches, tenderness, or weakness .
Most people who take statins suffer no side effects from the cholesterol-lowering drugs. A small number, however, develop mild to crushing muscle pain.
Your mild chest pain can be a muscle pain and atorvastatin be an explanation but i want to underline that this side effect is very very rare.
The most common causes of chest pain are heart attack,GERD,muscle strain and pulmonary diseases like asthma or pneumonia.
As i said earlier ,my advice is to consult first a cardiologist in your area to evaluate if the pain is related to your heart.(this can be dangerous and must be diagnosed as soon as possible)
If the heart is OK,than al the other possible causes should be considered.
Hope i have clarified your doubts.
Regards
