How I Can Get Better Or What This Could Be Or Is It Long COVID ?
Question: Hello, I have had Covid twice in the past year, both with long Covid afterwards. First time with Covid Sept 2021, had long Covid for 2 months then was able to go back to work. Second time with Covid, Sept 2022 and I have not been able to return to work or function since then. I feel very cold all the time, extreme fatigue, sleeping 18+ hours a day. I occasionally run a temp of 100-102 about 2-3 a week mainly at night. SOB on exertion. Appetite is poor, only able to eat 2 or 3 foods, smells bother me. Still have some nausea, GI symptoms but that is improving gradually. This has debilitated me to the point I can not function at home or work. I have had many labs done. HCT was elevated initially after first Covid a year ago but has returned to normal. Lyme and Mono tests normal. Saw hematologists, does not feel blood related. I feel so cold all the time like I can't get warm but get sweaty when I do try and get up. It has been 3.5 months since I have been like this post Covid. PCP is unsure what else to do except rest and hydrate. I do have HTN and sleep apnea, on CPAP and meds for hypertension.VSS are stable except for temp on/off. I am also on antidepressants for depression. Please advise on how I can get better or what this could be or is it Long Covid ? Thank you
Brief Answer:
Get your thyroid checked
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think you may need to check your thyroid hormones doing T3, T4 TSH levels and an ultrasound of thyroid gland.
Sometimes low thyroid possibly due to thyroiditis may be the cause of these symptoms. Also ERS and CRP may be needed.
The symptoms you mentioned may also be caused by depression and anxiety.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks.

Hi, I have provided some attachments. Please review them.
Brief Answer:
See details below.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear thank you for asking again.
I see the test results you uploaded and most of them are normal.
You are having an abnormal urine analysis which means urinary tract infection and you may need to get treated. Also glucose levels are a bit elevated and they can get better with low sugar diet.
TSH levels were normal in both measurements.
None of these tests can cause the symptoms you are having.
You may need to do also vitamin B 12 levels, folate levels, and iron .
Let me know if I can assist you further.
