How Accurate Are Blood And Urine Tests For STI?

thanks
Please attach a copy of test report to know accuracy of testing method used
Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in to us.
I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.
1. There are many sexually transmitted infections and as many tests to detect their presence.
2. If your blood and urine samples are negative for a particular STI then most probably you are not infected.
3. Tests might be false negative in an infected individual if the infection is still in the window period or enough antibodies are not produced to make it detectable on the test.
4. The tests used in present days have a high sensitivity and specificity and therefore it is unlikely that the results are false due to the technique used.
5. The accuracy of a test can be commented up on only after reading the detailed result. Should you like to discuss further then please attach a copy of the report to your query and send me a follow up query please.
Regards,
Dr.Vivek
