How Accurate Is HIV AG AB Test Taken By CMIA Method?
Question: Hello sir,
after being potentially exposed ( anal sex encounter with a hooker in which condom,broke) i started pep tablets ( ziduvidline and limuvidline combo) 40 hrs post exposure and completed the course. Tested non reactive on 21 days after exposure by cmia hiv 1&2 ag and ab test with a patient value.04
tested non reactive in 6 th week post exposure vdrl test. Yesterday. I gave my blood sample,for pcr dna test and since than i am very much frightened..i have mild sore throat since a month as i am active smoker 10-15 cigs in a day and drinker too. From last 3-4 days i can feel lymph nodes in armpit and groin area .ihave a single bump like sore on my chin area which comes and goes in near by region again and again...feeling my tongue a little whitish side.
i am feeling body pain and unwellness kinda situation from a week may b due to sero conversion i am afraid to say...
I am being paranoid as I everytime read about symptoms and try to search them by searching lymph nodes pressing deep in neck and arm pit region. No fever ,no rash no weight loss reported,no night sweats and chills kinda thing....
my questions:-
1- how indicative is a 21 days hiv ag ab 1&2 test taken by cmia method???what are my chances to remain hiv negative as per ur experience with these test results and circumstances????
2- does pep tablets affects the test results as i read different opinions about this???
3?? My pcr dna result,will come in 2-3 days till than how to handle this anxiety disorder???

You had a protected exposure with a broken condom. The HIV risk is negligible only.
You had PEP. and wrote you had completed. PEP, still earlier,would have still more a better effect, anyhow you had taken within 72 hours. So it would be still useful. Have you completed the same for 4 weeks?
1. A negative CMIA Combo test at 21 days ruled out the possibility of HIV 1 infection which is the commonest infection throughout the world except XXXXXXX
2.PEP could have aborted the disease. It it fails, it would lead to delay in appearance of antibodies. So it is better to wait till 6 months to rule out both HIV 1 and 2.
3.If you disturbed mentally very much seek the help of a psychiatrist.

yes i completed my pep course without fail for 4 weeks two times in a day .actually i am worried about mild sore throat and swalloen lymph nodes and little bit lethargy and unwellness situation..
i don't feel any other specific symptoms...
what are the chances to be remain neagative im my next pcr dna test which will give results after two days ???

It is good that you had successfully completed PEP. Then there is no concern for you to worry at all.
DNA PCR for HIV is very much conclusive after 4 weeks itself. There is no doubt about the same at 7 and half weeks. As your CMIA Combo (P24 Ag) was negative by 21 days, then DNA PCR by this time will be almost 100% nonreactive.
Sore throat, swollen lymph nodes are the commonest ailment that anybody can have. It may be due an ordinary bacterial or viral cause through an air born infection or through water contamination. They are not specific for HIV or sero-conversion illness.

actually I am very much worried inside as i have no one to share my problem.. I have noticed two little sore today one on roof of mouth and other on inner cheek.i am feeling very lethargic and pain on my thighs and back. Felling my vision also getting blurred for a,moment in between. Feeling pain in my jaw and face and can feel a lymph node under jaw...
this all is very strange for me never happened before ..
please help why all this hapening to,me ..i,am worrying 24 *7 sir ..i am feeling like i am going to die

still waiting for my DNA pcr results ...but in between I tested for HIV 1&2 antibody test which shows negative exatly today at after 8 weeks of exposure...
in fear of HIV I got high bp 110 /160 and now taking medicines for it...
should I get some peace of Mind with this test ?????
now I font want to look for symtomps just want to know with ur experience can I lead to normal life with this test results..
can I continue to have physical relation with my gf????
