Brief Answer:
HIV is a well manageable disease.

Detailed Answer:
HI,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic.
Thanks for posting your query.

Please write more about you. Your age, whether married or single, your sexual activities etc. These will help to alleviate your fear against HIV. HIV is not air born or water born infection or transmitted through just a casual contact.

It can be transmitted only though 4 ways:

1 SEXUAL TRANSMISSION (All types penetrative sex)
2. Infected blood transfusion
3. Sharing of sharp objects like needles
4. From infected mother to her baby (in uterus and through breast milk)

It can be well treated, no longer life threatening and the life expectancy is almost same like that of a person without HIV.

So nothing to get panicky about HIV. Feel free to ask further.
