Question: Hi, I think i have a tampon stuck inside me. I cant feel anything though when i try to get it out.. The 2 reasons i think i do is the odor (almost like a rotting smell from my vagina as well as when i put a new tampon in, it feels like there is one getting pushed up. In there further. Is there any way i can check?

Brief Answer:
Gynecologist

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I recommend a visit to the gynecologist's office. The foul smelling odor could be due to infection secondary to being left in a tampon. It is not safe, it can lead to infections in the deeper structures like the cervix and uterus leading to serious complications like Pelvic inflammatory disease.

The gynecologist would have instruments which can help him/her to remove the left in tampon out. Also, he/ she might suggest a course of antibiotics to prevent further infection. Do not delay, consult your gynecologist at the earliest.

Hope I answered your query. Wish you good health.

Regards
