Posted on Fri, 7 Feb 2025
Question: Hi Doctor, got my annual health check up done. Standout results are HS-CRP level of 9; total cholesterol 189; triglycerides: 171 and LDL 121, HDL 46; SGPT 91 and SGOT 41; HB1AC 6. KFT and Thyroid are normal and so is the CBC, except marginally elevated MPV at 13.3. Height 168 and weight 73KG age 35. Father has type 2 diabetes at 55 years. Vitamin b12 id 512 and Vitamin d is 14. Abdominal ultrasound shows grade 1 fatty liver. Also suffering from lower back pain and pain in groin from last one month. initially diagnosed as illuginal neuralgia and then sacroiliitis. Mostly sedentary and sitting job. also has mild cervical spondylitis.
My question is that even with normal home diet my cholesterol are always in the higher end and so is fatty liver. i have taken treatment for fatty liver in 2017 using udiliv and liver enyzmes returned normal but increased again after i stopped the medicine. I take very less sugar and still have HB1ac as 6. what can i do to resolve this condition? also i am worried about high hscrp value. i am having pain and cramps from last few days and also at times burning sensation in my inner thighs and pain in back of knees. Doc has prescribed Lipaglyn for 3 months along with Vitamin d supplement and multivitamin. Also given painkillers for 5 day and taking physiotherapy.
You opinion and how can i manage above condition would be really helpful

Brief Answer:
Need to change lifestyle

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have gone through your question, I understand your concern.
Your condition could be due to genetic factor.
As you are taking normal diet and even then, reports came abnormal.
You need to change your lifestyle.
Brisk walk daily for 45 minutes.
Keep your BMI, BELOW 25.
HsCRP is nothing but just an indicator of body inflammation.
Means there is something abnormal in your body, and that is due to vitamin d deficiency.
Cramps and other pains are due to vitamin d deficiency, for which you are alreday taking medication.
So for now now take all above medication, as taking.
And for long term, do regular brisk walking and keep BMI under 25.

I hope your query is clear now.
Thanks and regards

Thank you Doctor. This is really helpful.
I wanted to check if my elevated HSCRP need further evaluation. I am currently taking physiotherapy for my back pain as it was suggested by the doctor and there is some relief. Also, how much time does it take for this parameter to come normal?
