Question: I have been taking 60 mg of duloxitine for 10 yrs and want to get off it. My doctor has prescribed 20 mg twice a day to wean me off but it makes me tired mornings. Can I take both 20 mugs capsules at night. This withdrawal has been horrible.

Brief Answer:
Gradual dose reduction is needed.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Yes you can take both capsules at night no need to get worried. If you were on single dose of 60 mg then better to take single lower dose for proper tapering. Please don't make abrupt dose reduction. Reduce the doses in around 6-10 weeks. Such gradual dose reduction will prevent any kind of withdrawal.

Thanks and Take care
