
How Can A Bartholin’s Abscess Be Treated?

Question: I have undergone surgery on 16th January 2017 to cure Bartholins abscess. But till now I am having pain there and am taking sitz bath twice a day to relieve the pain.
Please suggest was there anything wrong in my surgery or this is normal and this takes time.

The surgery which is done to drain the bartholin's abscess is called MARSUPIALISATION of the cyst where the cyst wall is opened to exterior and this is covered with antibiotics. You have been rightly advised sitz baths and this usually takes 15 days post operation to heal completely.
If the pain is still present then you must get it evaluated again for any recurrence of infection.
