How Can A Cyst Below The Tonsil Be Treated?
Question: Hello,
Since I had a cold about a month ago, I noticed a small symmetrical cyst below my right tonsil. It is almost the same colour as the mucosa and maybe appearing slightly more pale. At first I was worried it was a papilloma as I've had a new partner and we have had oral sex. I did have it assessed and two doctors so far are not concerned. I had the throat swabbed when I was ill and didn't receive a call back so it was most likely a viral infection. It was like a tonsillitis that quickly resolved. I am still concerned because it is still there. I'm worried that it may be a papilloma or I wonder if I picked up the herpes type 1. (as I have this and may have passed it to my partner's genitals?) I don't have any current symptoms other than clearing my throat from time to time and the odd funny feeling in the throat (however this is rare). My question is will this eventually disappear? I also have a tiny cyst on my uvula as well that has been there for a few years now. No change.
