How Can A Dark Spot On The Nose Be Treated?
Need more information and few pictures
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for asking at HCM.
I carefully read your questions and am trying to understand your concern but you have included very little information there.
Can I kindly ask you to give more details on the skin lesion you have like:
When did it start and where is it and how it has progressed?
Does it causes you symptoms or not?
Do you have it in other areas?
Have you tried any treatment already and how was the effect?
Including a picture of the lesion is very helpful so please uploar one clear view of it so I can have a better evaluation.
Thank you again for writing at HCM and please reply back to this email so I can try to help you with your concerns.
Kind regards
Dr Antoneta Zotaj
Creams recommended and please do not pick the skin lesions for better effect
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXX,
Thank you for sending the pictures and for the extra information.
By what I am able to see in the pictures the darkening of the skin in the form of spots could be related to trauma of skin lesions like picking them.
1. In the face the view is similar to acne. I would recommend you to take tretinoin cream with benzoyl peroxide and apply it twice a day. It helps healing of scaring tissue and cleans infections and might lighten spots and help with wrinkles also. I would use it on the face twice a day for at least 6 weeks before thinking it is not helpful. If it is helping than you will need to use it at least 3-6 months. I am not sure it will help with the leg lesions but I would probably use it there too as if they are due to picking them this cream might help regeneraltion and healing of tissues.
2. Sometimes combining it with oral antibiotics like Minocycline one tablet a day for at least 6 weeks might help a lot.
3. Make sure you use antiacne soap in the face with antibacterial properties.
4. Use sunscreen cream with 50 protection factor to prevent spots getting darker due to regular sun burning of the skin, avoid hot sun and use hats if needed.
5. If you have the habit of picking your skin than the problem will last long and there is no treatment that will help and you will not see improvement but even worsening. Some patients have the habit of picking as a stress reliever you will need to ask for medical help and get treatment to help with this habit.
I hope this is helpful and answers to your question. Please feel free to let me know if anymore clarifications are needed.
Kind regards
