How Can A Fracture In Right Foot Three Time In The Last Two Years?

Question: I have fractured my right foot three time in the last two years and my finger without trauma to the area. Is it possible the meds I'm on are causing this or am I exercising to often. I have Parkinson's disease and i'm on carvadopa leva dopa, neupro patch. hormone therapy minneville patch, progresterim, testotorime. I aslo had the left side of mythyroid removed 15 years ago and take synthroid. why would I keep breaking bones so easy?

Hi,

Since you have multiple diseases ,which may have affected your calcium metabolism leading to severe osteoporosis and osteomalacia. This causes weakness in the bones leading to fractures , sometimes even with trivial injuries which may go unnoticed. Excessive exercises could be one of the reasons.
I suggest you get Bone Densitometry (Dexa scan- 2 sites hip and spine), Blood tests for calcium, vitamin d3 ,vitamin B12, And blood protein levels.
In the meantime start Calcium and vitamin D3 Supplements.
