How Can A Functional Cyst Be Treated?

Question: I had some mid cycle bleeding on 9/30/2016 5 days after my normal cycle. I went to the OBGYN on 10/03/2016 and she said I had a 2 cm functional cyst on my right ovary and she said it would go away on its own. Well, I was still a bit worried so I made an appointment with my OBGYN on 10/25/2016 in my local city and he did another ultrasound and it is still showing the 2 cm simple cyst on the right ovary. My question is, is a functional cyst the same as a simple cyst? How long does it take to go away?

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and thanks for your query.
Don't worry because a functional cyst is a simple cyst.
Functional cysts are follicles that haven't blown up from the process of ovulation .
lf you have any further questions please don't hesitate.

Ok so if a simple cyst is a functional cyst (follicular), how long does it take to go away? My simple cyst is 2cm. My OBGN does not seem worried I just wanted to make sure that I have done all I can to resolve any problems.

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear and apologize for late reply.
I understand that you are worried but there is nothing to worry about.
Usually these small simple cyst resolve by itself and you need to any medication.
If you will not have any problems and cycle will be regular you don't need to do anything.
