Brief Answer:
Warm compress and anti inflammatory medication

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Swelling and lumps occur with trauma as part of the body's inflammatory response. The use of a warm compress to the area along with anti inflammatory medication, would be helpful to reduce the lump.

The warm compress can be applied 2 to 4 times a day for 10 to 15 mins. Examples of anti inflammatory medication include naproxen, Ibuprofen, Cataflam etc.

It can take 1 to 3 weeks for a lump formed from trauma to resolve. In some cases, the resolution is incomplete, meaning that the lump may go down somewhat but not completely.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions.
