How Can A Perianal Abscess Be Treated?

Question: On Saturday 24th I had a small raised and tender bump on the outside edge of my anus. I did not treat it for 2 days and it didn't seem to get any worse or any better. After searching online the symptoms sounded to be haemorrhoids, so I purchased Proctosedyl ointment (Hydrocortisone 5mg, Cinchocaine hydrochloride 5mg) and began applying as directed since Wednesday (4 days). During this time the bump seems to have gotten larger and firmer, however it doesn't really hurt and isn't very tender - it's just more annoying. Should I keep using the ointment? What are other treatment options?

By your description this looks more like a peri anal abscess ,which is collection of infective or inflammatory material, doesn't look like haemorrhoids.
You could stop using the ointment which you are using in turn please apply Nadifloxacin ointment thrice a day .
You could also sit in a tub of warm water just to give it a good formentation.
If it keeps increasing and doesn't respond to this basic measures you will have to see a general surgeon for draining it

I went and saw a doctor and he diagnosed it as a Perianal hepatoma and said that it will go away in time. I googled and it as suggested I use hirudoid cream for this - will it help and is it OK to use? Is there any other steps I can take to make it go away faster?

Hello again, firstly how did you get a haematoma there did you have any injury?
Nevertheless if it is an haematoma then hirudoid cream will help.
To help it disappear faster you can sit in a tub of warm water .
Also start taking vitamin C tab once a day it will help for its absorption.

Hi,

I did not have any injury there that I remember, however the doctor inspected the area extensively and noted that there was no sign of abscess and because it's not very painful it isn't an external haemorrhoid.

How often should I use the Hirudoid cream? How long should I expect it to take to go away?

I would recommend you to use hirudoid cream in the same frequency as your doctor has suggested you ,because he has seen the extent of the haematoma.
But I would advice you to take vitamin c for a month and sit in XXXXXXX warm water twice a day.

As I mentioned in my previous question, the doctor did not prescribe hirudoind cream however after research I saw that it was recommended for such conditions. That's why I asked you how often I can use it for best effect?

What do you mean by bleed? As in blood will come from the haematoma or it will make it worse?
