How Can A Red Rash On The Lower Leg Be Treated?
Question: sirs , just curious. I recently developed a ' red rash ' on my lower leg just at my sock line. I see where bacterial , fungal , viral or drugs can do this. I have not changed anything in the drugs I am taking so wonder if I just wait this out to see if any changes. this started Saturday and this is Monday. Hello,
Thank you for using Healthcaremagic to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
It would help a lot if you send a photo so I can have a look and advise about it. You can simply upload/attach the pictures at the reports section of this web page.
Also, it is itchy or painful?
Have you ever had before something like that rash in that area or other areas of your skin?
Looking forward to your follow up question.

Brief Answer:
Possible contact dermatitis, but if not better, please follow up.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for the photo and the follow up question.
I looked at your photo carefully.
The place where it has developed and the way how it looks, seems like contact dermatitis. Your other areas of the skin seems dry too.
I would suggest that you try using Hysrocortisone 1% cream for 1 weeks, and then if not better, consider seeing your local physician to advise some labs.
The color of the rash, the fact that is it not itchy, and the fact that it has no scales on top makes me a bit suspicious of possibility of being something related with the platelets in your blood too. So, if that type of rash appears in other parts of the body that do not have a direct contact and friction with clothes, then feel free to follow up with me so I can advise further, or as advised above see your local physician.
Kind regards,
Dr. Papaqako
