How Can A Renal Cortical Cyst Be Treated?
Question: Hi. What does it mean when I have a small left renal cortical cyst? Cyst noted in lower left kidney measuring 0.7 x 0.68cm with tiny calcifications along its wall. Together with this, RBC in my urine as shown in my urinalysis in 27.50 /uL taken in March 2016 (normal range 0 - 11 /uL)? As of my last urinalysis March 2017, RBC in my urine is 164.73 /uL.

Renal cortical. cyst is always congenital in origin and is usually benign in nature and do not require any treatment unless it increases in size or get infected. It should be considwred as routine accidental finding.
As Regards presence of RBC in urine it can be due to either infection or any other pathology and needs further investigations like contrast C T or I V P.

Hello Dr. XXXXXXX
I have gone for my blood test and on my 2nd day of a 3-day urine cytosine test. I have yet to go for a CT urogram. My doctor told me if at all, I should have some pain on the left side around the abdomen area or in the back. I have always had lower back pains due to some "defects" in my lumbar spine area. I think I am now noticing some very, very slight pain on my left abdomen area. Is this any cause for alarm?
