Question: I just discovered a new XXXXXXX skin spot on my cheek that is sore. It's about the size of a nickel. The soreness is different from my other age spots. I have taken a photo.

Brief Answer:
Seems like hematoma. Not a cancer most probably, but keep an eye

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your question.
I saw it carefully and I understand your concern.

It looks like a hematoma. Maybe you have hit it somewhere, or something has irritated the skin and it has reacted with a hypervascularization.

I will suggest to apply a moisturising cream on it and keep an eye on it for changes.

If it gets larger, more red, more sore then its time to follow up.

I don't think it is a cancer, if that was your fear. The fact that it is sore means that there is some inflamation going on.

Hope this is helpful.
