How Can A Stye In The Eye Be Treated?
Question: How can I treat a style?
Brief Answer:
warm compress, gentle scrub. Topical antibiotic may be needed
Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
This occurs due to infection involving glands in the eyes.
Treatment consists of: (1) warm compress and gentle massage of the area for 10 mins, 4 times a day. This encourages drainage.
(2) topical antibiotic drops or cream to the eye, may sometimes be needed. Very rarely, if the entire eyelid is infected, would systemic/oral antibiotics be needed.
(3)if there is any pain , you can use paracetamol or ibuprofen
(4)in some cases, if an eyelash is involved, this has to be removed by a doctor
In most persons, the stye clears up in 1 to 2 weeks
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
