How Can An Itchy Red Spot On The Leg Be Treated?

Possible infection of skin
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health queries,
Itching can cause micro trauma leading to bacterial infection of the skin.
You can apply over the counter Mupirocin (Bactroban) ointment to the area and apply gauze dressing. Change the gauze dressing every 12 hours. Wash the area with antiseptic soap and water. Keep the area dry.
You can also take Advil 400 mg twice daily after food to reduce the redness, inflammation, and pain. If itching is present take cetirizine 10 mg once daily.
If you do not notice any improvement in next 2 days, follow up with your primary provider to assess the need for oral antibiotics.
It would be very helpful if you could please upload a picture of the rash so that I can confirm the diagnosis.
Hope this answers your questions

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
I have reviewed the attached picture. The rash does not seem to be acutely infected at this point. This may be because you are already on antibiotics.
Could you also please let me know what antibiotics you are taking and what was it prescribed for.
I'd suggest, continue Piriteze to relieve itching. You can continue applying Mupirocin ointment for next 5-6 days to treat any persisting infection or prevent possible infection.
Awaiting..
Regards
