How Can Asymptomatic Dark Skin Patches Be Made Normal?

Question: Hi, I have this skin dark patches for years never actually bothered to ask what it is before, because it doesn't hurt etc. I also haven't been to the doc in years before this winter, and this was last thing on my mind. But since I have this great app, would be great to know what it could be, if it's possible to lighten it or something to make it less pronounce. Thanks
Brief Answer:
Sunprotection and skin lightening cream
Detailed Answer:
Hello. Thank you
I am Dr. Kakkar (Dermatologist and Venereologist). I have noted your concern and I have viewed the image.
I suggest you to use a broad spectrum sunscreen during the day. Reapply every 2-3 hours.
At night you may use a skin lightening cream e.g either Kojic acid based cream or a Glycolic acid based cream.
Regards

Hi, Thanks. I'll look into it but right now I have other concerns. If you do not mind I'd like a 3rd opinion since you're a Dermatologist. The attached picture is a collage of a bump I have on the lower base of my nose, top pics is after two days I got the bump, lower pics is todays after the pus was leaking out from the sides. I also accidentally washed away the skin that was on it. One of the Doc here told me to go to a clinic because I might need oral antibiotic and I went to clinic, but the Doc didn't give oral antibiotics and just told me to use ointment Mupirocin. 1) Does it look like it's healing? Is the Mupirocin doing its job? How long should it take? 2) Is it possible to fight off Bacterial infection like this without oral antibiotics? 3) Is this a boil or acne? 4) What else should I watch out for? I don't have a fever but I do feel neasseau sometimes and it's gone after a while, on and off, this has been for 2 days. 5) Should I go to Doc and ask for oral AB? Thanks.
Brief Answer:
Folliculitis
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thank you, yes you may.
I have reviewed the image. You seem to have bacterial folliculitis. Mupirocin ointment is good enough. It should heal on just topical mupirocin ointment.
There is really no need for an oral antibiotic for a single lesion such as this.

Hi, it's been 5 days with the mupirocin do you think I need to keep using it. Please see pic what the bump looks like now. Also I'm sending a pic of my while right face. Which has been getting outbreaks lately, that bump being the latest, if you please can tell me if my skin looks 'normal' or does it look problematic? Last year I don't remember my skin have such large pores...Thank you..
Brief Answer:
Regarding your skin complaints
Detailed Answer:
Thank you.
The infection seems to have responded well to mupirocin. I suggest you to continue with it for a few days.
Perhaps you have an oily skin and therefore your skin pores are large. Otherwise it's quite normal skin.
