How Can Bumps After A Blackhead Removal Be Treated?

Posted on Fri, 10 Nov 2023
Question: I had a black head I tried to remove by squeezing it, it turned into a pimple like a bump and I again tried squeezing it but I could not release the fluid under the skin. It has now been over a year and the bump is hard and really ugly I would like to get it removed. Do I see a dermatologist or surgeon and will it be covered by medical insurance or considered cosmetic

Brief Answer:

Yes

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

It is better to send a photo of a pimple.

However, this is probably caused by scarring of the black head and there are simple ways to remove it by a dermatologist in an in-clinic procedure using fractional laser or cauterization.

This will probably be considered a cosmetic procedure unless it got inflamed or infected.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
