![default](/r/images/default.png)
I have chest discomfort comes comes and goes for 6 month . I went 4 times to ER and I did nuclear stress test at rest and while running on treadmill , ECHO , EKG , chest x ray and two CT chest and all were normal. The cardiology want do last test CT coronary ango and he said if this test is normal means my heart is fine but i am concern about the radiation because i did many tests and the side effect of this test . Is it necessary to do this test ? and i can do sport without any pain but i have high blood pressure 160/ 86
I would recommend as follows:
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Welcome back on HealthcareMagic!
Considering your performed tests, I would explain that it is very likely that the coronary angio CT scan will result normal too.
I agree with you that this test imposes a considerable amount of radiation and considering the fact that you have already done a chest CT scan, I would not go in favor of a coronary angio CT scan.
But, from the other side, it would help exclude for sure coronary artery disease and also calm your anxiety.
It is up to you to decide to perform or not this test. If you are really anxious, it would be better perform it and feel better. Anxiety is bad for our health too!
Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Iliri

I already make an appointment for CT ango for friday but i am thinking to call them tomorrow so i can cancel the appointment . As you mentioned before i did many tests and all were normal . because the XXXXXXX has side effect and maybe it will hurt me .i already did lab work for the CT ango to see if i am allergic to the XXXXXXX but my parent's told me not to do it and they mentioned that my heart is fine. my grand mother did this test before and she didn't recommend it because she continuously throwing up while she doing this test. I also do sport and if i have heart issue my chest pain it will hurt more with exertion but i don't have these symptoms that's why thinking not to do it. And you mentioned before also not necessary . Do you recommend me continue do it or cancel
another doctor also didn't recommend it to do this test too
"No, based on the different tests that you have already done which have given normal results, the CT angio is not necessary.
If any of the previous tests showed significant abnormal results then this test may be needed.
The nuclear stress test would have shown if there were any areas of the heart that were under stress during activity or rest, any areas with reduced blood supply.
The echo would have shown the structure and function of the heart ,looked at the sizes of the different heart chambers and how they pumped blood
The chest x ray would have given a general idea of the size of the heart and also check out the lungs.
The same for the chest CT though these would have given more information.
The EKG would have looked at the heart rate and looked at the conduction of impulses through the heart. Abnormalities can also occur if there are areas of reduced blood supply because these areas cannot conduct blood properly.
The fact that the pain occurs at rest also makes it less likely to be the heart.
Chest pain can be related to any structure in the chest from the skin inwards: skin, muscles, bones, esophagus, lungs, heart
The CTs would have shown if there was a structural cause (abnormal shape or size or presence of a mass)
"
the above is another doctor answer. what do you think. Based on his answer , thinking to cancel the test as it seem has more bad than good for my situation
My opinion as follows:
Detailed Answer:
Hello again!
I agree with the other doctor that no suspicions on any possible coronary artery disease have been raised based on your performed tests.
So, I agree on the fact that this test is not necessary in your case, especially considering the XXXXXXX and radiation adverse effects.
If there was something wrong with your heart or other structures of your chest, it would have been detected by all your performed tests.
So, relax and don't worry about it!
In my opinion you should cancel this test, as it is not necessary.
Hope to have been helpful!
Wishing all the best,

i already canceled but another doctor here asked me these questions
"Does the local pressure on sore area increase the pain?
Any activity, particularly one that needs forward movements of the upper limbs or inwards movements increase the pains?
Any other factors that increase the pains?"
When i said no he said
"Since there is ''no'' to my questions, it is better to go ahead with Angiography. This will confirm the cause or rule it out.
I think there may be lots of stress and/or anxiety being one of the reasons for such pains.
Please give the feedback once angio is done.
ou are 30 years old with pain in chest - discomfort in heart area. This is sufficient reason for the test and the most important is that it is advised by your Doctor as he/she would have a suspicion.
Best to rule out so that nothing remains in mind about cardiac problem being the possible cause of your symptoms.
Please discuss with your Doctor about the availability of other forms of cardiac angiography like MRI angiography in which there is no radiation or the conventional one in which there is not much of radiation.
Infection, irregular heart beats and bleeding are very rare complications so not to worry about these much.
Please discuss again with the Doctor who has advised and follow his advise as he has done the clinical evaluation in your case."
What do u think of his respond , and i checked my blood pressure yesterday and was 160/ 86 and after i took propranolol was 143/80. and today was 155/80. what should i do for blood pressure, do i take propranolol temporarily for it. i take regularly amaldopine 5 mg
and is it safe to take Apple Cider Vinegar with amaldopine and amaldopine because some people said it can help for blood pressure
I would recommend as follows:
Detailed Answer:
Hello again!
I am sorry, but I would not agree with the other doctor in some points.
It is not true that if the chest pain is not triggered by any body position or physical activity, or pressure, it indicates coronary artery disease.
Anxiety can mimic all this clinical situation, without moving, at rest.
Chostochondritis, can also lead to this clinical scenario.
Considering your performed cardiac tests, I think that the coronary angio CT scan will result normal. So, you do not need to do it, especially considering its risk or radiation.
Regarding your high blood pressure, I would recommend increasing amlodipine dose to 10 mg per day.
Another option would be to add a new anti-hypertensive drug like hydrochlorothiazide or ACEI (lisinopril, ramipril, etc.).
Anxiety may play an important role in your high blood pressure. But, I would recommend performing additional tests to investigate for possible causes of secondary hypertension, especially considering your young age:
- PCR, ESR for inflammation
- thyroid hormone levels for thyroid dysfunction
- fasting glucose and HbA1C
- blood electrolytes
- kidney and liver function tests
- cortisol and aldosterone plasma levels for adrenal gland dysfunction.
Meanwhile, I would recommend reducing coffee and salt intake and perform a lot of physical activity (walking, yoga, recreational sports, etc.), which can help lower your blood pressure naturally.

i also have issue with focus and memory for remembering thing

the first one is mention Non-Stimulant Formula and i took it one time and i checked it raise my blood pressure. and second one it helped me before but i took it when i don't have blood pressure. but mention second one has Ginseng and this show that raise blood pressure. is it safe to take the second one while i have high blood pressure because i am concern if i take it to raise my blood pressure and the chest discomfort ?
I would recommend as follows:
Detailed Answer:
Hello again!
I am not sure if the second supplement has any effects on blood pressure values. It increased the brain cells energy and also increases the blood circulation in the brain, leading to improvement of the mental performance.
But, I would recommend trying it.
Regarding high blood pressure, I would recommend you first to try to lower it naturally with diet modification (low salt and caffeine intake) and physical activity. Loosing some pounds can help.
A close monitoring of your blood pressure is necessary in the meantime.
But, if these blood pressure values, persist, I would recommend discussing with your doctor on the possibility of starting anti-hypertensive therapy ( an ACEI or ARB).
