Question: Hello. I was hoping for some advice. 4 years ago I went to a colorectal surgeon for an anal fissure. Long story short even after a surgery it wasn't healing, so he ordered a colonoscopy. He said my results came back positive for inflammatory bowel disease, but I present with both signs of chrons and ulcerative, so he told me I had indeterminate colitis and would be dealing with it off and on for the rest of my life. He treated me with asacol and 80 mg of prednisone daily. He eventually had me go to a gastroenterologist who ordered her own colonoscopy and decided I don't have anything wrong, not even ibs. Since this, I have been thru 5 severe gi infections, 3 hospitalizing me, one of which showed my colon was doubled in size. I've had 3 more what I believe to be "flare ups" that I've just suffered thru with strict diet change. I'm worried I may have another infection currently, I'm cramping, having severe diarrhea for the past 3 days ranging from every 2 hours to every 15 minutes (not always making it to the bathroom) last temp check was 101.6 after tylenol, nausea, vomited twice, mucus in diarrhea. Feeling like I'm getting dehydrated, constant headache. What do you reccomend I do? Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Exacerbation of Colitis and Chrohn.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I think you are suffering an infection and taking count of your very long and complicated history of colitis and Crohn you need a specialized treatment.
I think you should meet your doctor who knows your history and he can help you better than anyone because knows all details.
He may give you antibiotics and corticosteroids.
I think you should go to hospital for intravenous rehydration since you cant keep any fluids orally.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards
