Efficacy in general terms denote effectiveness of a drug in doing it's desired work. If we consider pharmacology then efficacy is roughly maximal response achieved by a drug or Emax.

The efficacy is calculated by clinical trials on population. The drug is compared to placebo in achieving its effects. In competitive studies it's calculated with similarcdrugs too. The statistical difference is found between efficacy of drugs.

Cariprazine is newly approved drug and it's still under research. I have found on article on PubMed for efficacy.
