How Can Fungal Infection On The Face Be Treated?
Question: Hello doc my daughter is 21 months old...few months ago she had a fungal infection on her face...on which i applied lobate g cream prescribed by doc...after applying cream the red fungal patch got cured but it left a discolored skin on her face which looks very odd and makes me scared...please suggest what to do for regaining the color of her skin...thnks in advance

I have gone to your complaints as well as reviewed the attached photograph.
Firstly lobate g is a steroid cream which is not used in the treatment of fungal infection.
Also it is a strong steroid to be used in a 2 year old child and it has probably led to the hypopimentation.
It will take time to settle.
If you are too anxious about it, I will suggest to apply tacrolimus 0.03 percent ointment on the affected areas once daily for 3-4 weeks.
It is a prescription drug and should be used under the supervision of the doctor.

Mam is it too serious matter? I am really feeling bad and worried...cant i apply calamine lotion or aquasoft cream on it? Should i visit a skin specialist before using the cream u prescribed?please suggest
