Brief Answer:
Kindly refer to the detailed answer

Detailed Answer:
Hello Ma’am

After going through your medical details I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that yes triglycerides more than 200mg is high which needs to be managed with diet or medication to lower the risk of cardiovascular disease or stroke.

If it is the first time you are diagnosed to have high cholesterol levels then treatment will start with dietary modification for first 3 months. Dietary modification for high cholesterol will include

1. High fibre intake

2. No drinking

3. No junk food

4. Avoid refined or added sugars

5. Daily Physical activity for 45 min

Follow this routine and repeat your Lipid profile after 3 months, if these lifestyle and dietary changes help you in lowering the Cholesterol or triglyceride levels then you can continue with dietary modification only and if it doesn’t help much then you may require administration of cholesterol lowering drugs also.

Hopefully this information will answer your query.

Kind Regards

I really don't understand why the number would be so high. I mainly eat a plant-based diet. I seldom eat junk food. I do high impact workouts for at least 1.5 hours twice a week. I am active. However, I do drink a glass of wine daily. My numbers were not high last year when I went through the exam. Is it possible for the numbers to go from not high to high in a year?

Hello Again

Detailed Answer:
If your triglyceride levels were completely normal last year and there is no significant change in your lifestyle during this last one year then I would like to suggest you to kindly get the test repeated as sometime it can be a faulty report.
