How Can Itching At The Anus After Taking Zentel For A 22-month-old Be Managed?
Question: My daughter is 1 year 10 months now and this question is regarding the deworming medicine.
Her paediatrician had given her deworming medicine Zentel 10ml when she was 1 year 5 month which we had given her 5ml each for couple of days.
Now from past 1 week, we have observed that she is trying itch the area near her anus and we feel that this could be because of worm.
Need your advise on this and whether the deworming medicine is needed again now?

Children of this age have a tendency of putting things in the mouth and so getting worms is indeed a possibility. So, you could definitely opt for another round of deworming with Zentel. Giving one dose of 5 ml would suffice and you need not give two doses. The recommended dose in children less than 24 months is 5 ml or 200 mg.
