Brief answer:
Tumour markers are having very low sensitivity and are used theoretically only.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

Few markers are there like Ca 19-9 or CA 125 but sensitivity and specificity are low. So biopsy is the gold standard test. Basically no doctor would prescribe you these markers as levels of same marker may be raised in a number of other cancers also.Individual sensitivity for CEA, CA 19-9, CA 125 was only 28, 34,and 10%, respectively. The combined sensitivity of all markers was 64% so as told earlier they are not very helpful (nothing in front of biopsy).

Only endoscopy is done and biopsy samples are taken to rule out any possibility of cancer. Barret's esophagus if not controlled well then can lead to adenocarcinoma in few years.10% cases of Barret's progresses to adenocarcinoma in furture.
However if proper medication is followed with lifestyle changes you can live a totally normal life.
Keep repeating endoscopy with biopsy every 6 month initially to see progression.

Tumor markers are having very low sensitivity and are used theoretically only.

Can you please attach the medicines you are on?
Waiting!
Regards!
