She is having pain on her chest. The blood pressure is high and her heartbeat is faster. She sometimes feel pain on her chest near her heart. Sometimes she breathes faster. She also feel pain on the right lower rib. I want her to carry out all the tests related to these issues. Please advise. She is less than 60 kg. She does not smoke nor drink alcohol. Thank you
Brief Answer:
Needs echo and ECG.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Okay, firstly, considering her young age and symptoms, the possibility of heart disease is low. She likely has gastritis and reflux disease. Does she get upper abdominal pain, bloating, burping, chest burning, sour water coming to throat or increase in pain upon lying down or after food? These may be the other associated symptoms. If yes, she will need antacids for one to two weeks.
The other possibility is of costochondritis which is musculoskeletal pain; it increases upon applying pressure over the chest area.
Pain related to cardiac cause usually occurs upon exertion and relieves with rest. Fast breathing and palpitations are probably related to the anxiety of the pain.
She should get hemoglobin, vitamin D, thyroid profile, ECG done and may need echocardiography.
All the best. Hope I have answered your query.
Thank you.
