Brief Answer:
Overuse of muscles or long-standing/sitting position can cause pain.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I would like to inform you that there are some routine habits which can be the cause of such severe back pain like overuse of back muscles like lifting too much weight frequently or long sitting and standing hours or uncomfortable sleeping habits.

Kindly use hot and cold (ice) packs alternatively on the back and do gentle physical exercise with mild stretching which will be helpful in lowering the symptoms. If it doesn’t help much when you may require a physician’s consultation.

It’s advisable for you to personally consult an Orthopedist for physical and diagnostic evaluation if you are experiencing symptoms like:

- persistent pain in back with pain radiating to legs

- weakness, numbness or tingling sensation in one or both legs

- a limitation in daily physical activities

- any redness or swelling

- difficulty in passing urine or stools

Hopefully, this will answer your query.
